A Grade

Record 4-12 (7th)

Leading Goal Kickers: Jarrod Ryan 30, Cameron Sandercock 27, Paul Ellis 12, Will Vickery 10, Harrison Evans 10, Matt Cordy 10, Scott Fleming 10

Times in the Best: Matt Cordy 11, Aaron Lightbody 9, Michael Waters 8, Corben O’Dea 8, Harrison Evans 6, Fraser Brewster 5, Thomas Hunter 5, Jarrod Ryan 4

Season Overview: Kongorong had a competitive year and there were quite a few games where it was usually one quarter in the game where they let the match slip away and they couldn’t recover from it. Four wins by the Hawks in the A Grade in 2022 saw Kongorong miss the finals. It has been a long time since the Hawks made the finals and with some quality kids coming through, the club would be hoping they stick around and be a part of a new era of finals footy for the club. Matt Cordy capped off a consistent season by being named in the Mid South East Football League Team Of the Year.

Reserves

Record 8-8 (5th)

Leading Goal Kickers: Daniel Hann 24, John Simpkin 12, Bohdi Pannenburg 11, Jack Mullan 7, Wayne Attiwell 6, Sean Beard 6

Times in the Best: Daniel Hann 8, Declan Robinson 7, Matt Maidment 6, Bodhi Pannenburg 5, Harry Maddern 5, Riley Maconachie 4, Lachie Pulford 4, William Cameron 4, Jack Mullan 4

Season Overview: The Hawks reserves just missed out on a finals spot in 2022. Kongorong fell one game short of Robe for the final spot in the top four. The side won four of their first six games, but couldn’t go on with the kind of form needed to make the finals. Keeping players around will be the key in 2023 as the Hawks look to bounce up in to the top 4 and finals next season.

Senior Colts

Record 13-5 (3rd)

Leading Goal Kickers: Brodie Von Stanke-Dowie 64, Shakielle Von Stanke-Dowie 42, Tyler Richardson 36, Thomas Bellinger 32, Mackye Baron 26, Maverick Cooper 14

Times in the Best: Maverick Cooper 11, Tyler Richardson 10, Mackye Baron 10, Campbell Graney 8, William Von Stanke 8, Brodie Von Stanke-Dowie 7, Toby McKinnon 7

Season Overview: The Kongorong senior colts had a good season as the club builds depth with their younger players. The season was a successful one as the senior colts made it all the way to the preliminary final before going down to a strong Robe team. Maverick Cooper had a great season and ended up winning the Malseed Medal as a reward for his strong year. With some good junior colts coming through, the team will no doubt be strong next season and look to go a couple of steps further in the finals next season.

Junior Colts

Record 17-1 (1st)

Leading Goal Kickers: Harry Eletson 36, Rhys Newton 19, Ryan Lucas 16, Luke Allen 16, Logan Cordy 15, Curtis Page 14, Declan Richardson 12, Ryan Angelino 12, Nate Von Stanke-Dowie 11

Times in the Best: Declan Richardson 11, Harrison Elletson 10, Ryan Lucas 9, Blake Telford 8, Nate Von Stanke-Dowie 8, Rhys Newton 8, Axel Page 6, Luke Allen 6, Jobe Janeway 6

Season Overview: What a season by the young Hawks as they lost only one game on their way to winning the 2022 premiership. Kongorong’s only loss was against Glencoe in round 17 as they kicked poorly in the second half to go down by a narrow margin. Kongorong got revenge in the finals when they won the second semi and grand finals against Glencoe to take out the flag.
